The Yukarian Anticlimax Osaka massaged her temples and grumbled. Usually she was just asleep just before class began. Chiyo slipped next to Osaka and asked, "Excuse me, Osaka, but what seems to be wrong?"

Osaka pried open her eyes. "I haven't been sleeping well, Chiyo-chan. You know how much sleep means to me."

"Like a mother mixed with a boyfriend. That's how much sleep means to me."

"Chiyo." Osaka locked her sleep-deprived-er gaze on Chiyo's. "Are you trying to make me die in my sleep?"

Operation THORNBIRD, part 2 Mandie wolfed down the last cookie, speeding through the shopping mall crowd. Her map program steered her right at Bella, still a good half minute or so away with this foot traffic. She had a little headache near her frontal lobe; that particular branch of her grayaug quieted down as the glucose her her brain, shuttled all the way from the first cookie she'd eaten. Stupid computer had a sweet tooth and liked to remind her when it was hungry. At least it burned most of her calories.

Bella was laying down on a bench, rubbing her temples. "What, is it that bad?" Mandie asked, kneeling next to her.

"That bad," Bella said.

Windham Ward Mall bustled with the activity of an early Friday afternoon in the summer. Bella hid herself in a crowd of teenagers emerging from a trendy electronics store. She pretended to look at cell phones and mp3 players; all the while she relayed psionic messages between her teammates. It was dizzying work--something like what the old switchboard operators did, except all the wires and plugs were in her brain. This is an image that tells a story. Like, "you were really focused on coloring Shell and Friend

helped you pick out some colors to break up the brown!" And, "you got a hand cramp so thorough from coloring in those damned studs on Pom's armor that you didn't have the heart to arrange a pallet alongside like you did with Shell!"

That sort of story.

I may be doing an ATWIH comic. If nothing else, it'll force me to improve.

Somethin' like it, yah! I'll probably be working on their designs some as I refine 'em for comickry.

I'm really not looking forward to coloring tiny little studs on Pom's armor, is what I'm getting at.
