The Sniper's Prayer

The FS-020 is generally agreed to be the worst firearm ever put into mass production for use by the military, even compared to flintlock muskets used nearly a millennium ago. It shears off colossal .45 blocks for magnetic propulsion, a great vicious spike not seen since the days of gunpowder weaponry and almost certain to miss, much less dent whatever it's thrown at. But in the hands of the Farseers, it is no wild and near-insulting bludgeon, but a surgical and pitiless tool.

The Farseer project through will through augments in their slender armor, sending even the most wild bullets home into minuscule gaps in enemies' armor. With a thought, the universe's most pathetic handgun becomes a sniper weapon without compare.

Exactly why the FS-020 is so effective as a Farseer weapon compared to other firearms remains a mystery. The most popular theory presented thus far is that the FS-020's tragic development history--riddled with theft, shattered families, murder, and suicide--imbued their final and failed product with a certain fatalistic doom that guide the Farseers' projections with a hand sure as a master carpenter's.
